It goes something like this: “Dan, I’ve been struggling to get my business off the ground. Can you help me?”
It might be a request for coaching, or mentoring, or consulting… and for the past year, the answer has always had to be no.
Finally, I can say yes. Yes, I can work with you to grow your business. In fact, I can do a lot better than that… and we can start next week.
That’s because this Thursday, you’ll get a chance to join a coaching and training program that my colleagues and I have been working on for a year and a half.
That program is called Stompernet.
Now, a lot of you are reaching for the delete button right about now, because you think Stompernet is a “business opportunity,” an SEO training program, or maybe you think it’s yet another fly-by-night internet marketing scam.
But, it’s not.
Stompernet is, and always has been, a coaching and training program for people who want to grow their online business. Comparisons fail because there is simply nothing like it, anywhere.
The SEO training we offer is darned good, the best in my opinion, but that’s only a small part of it. My Adwords course is a part of it. Andy Edmonds’ analytics training is part of it.
But naming a few of the training programs gives short shrift to what we’ve actually built for you in the past year and a half.
We have a team of 15 (!) world class experts as faculty members, developing content and supporting our members through 4-times-per-week “faculty office hours” coaching calls.
Those calls are really cool - we get to answer individual questions, speaking one on one with a student, and it’s incredible how much ground we can cover by doing it that way.
But you hardly need to get the faculty members on the phone, because they’re in our forums, along with a couple dozen paid expert moderators, and fellow business owners who have usually “been there and done that” before you showed up.
There are over 100,000 posts in those forums, and I’ve made 3,158 of them. So, when I say that Stompernet is the place to be if you want me to help you grow your business, I’m not kidding - that’s where I am.
If you’re an SEO consultant and you just want to absorb the “latest and greatest,” you’re not going to enjoy Stompernet after the first month or so. If you want to learn how to grow your consulting business, I think you’ll love it.
If you are a business owner and you want to grow, if you’re willing to apply the lessons, and you can take constructive feedback for what it is, then I hope you’ll consider joining us this Thursday.
If you think you might want to work with me and the rest of my team at Stompernet to grow your business, I know you’ll want to take the time to fully explore what this is about.
To help you do that, I’ve got two links for you.
First, we have a 30-minute audio podcast from Stompernet’s CEO, Andy Jenkins, about what Stompernet does, and how much has been added to the program since he started it.
Now, Andy has a sort of interesting opinion on the best way to grow your business. To Andy, it’s not as important to understand every technical detail of SEO, or conversion, or whatever - it’s about putting these things to work in your business.
In spite of what Andy says, the faculty always take the time to explain why we recommend that you do this or that… but I do agree with his point. If you do nothing but implement good advice, it’s pretty hard to fail.
Andy briefly mentions the one-on-one coaching aspects in the podcast as well, and there will be more information about that part of the program before Thursday, if you get on the mailing list.
Second, we’ve got a 50-minute video featuring real-life case studies by 3 of our members. This isn’t scripted or rehearsed. You hear directly from these members about how they’ve grown their businesses. Their perspective is interesting.
The 3rd one (Chris McCombs) really had me sitting up in my seat. Every time he talks about achieving success by adding value to the web, it connects on a very personal level. That principle is part of everything I teach, and this guy didn’t just say “yeah, yeah, yeah…” - he made it a part of his life.
Take a look at those things, and if you’d like to work with me, get on the mailing list.
Because this is a very “high touch” program, we can only take on a limited number of members. The best way to make sure you get in is to get the email announcement on Thursday.
Thanks for reading! (and thanks for your continued support)

P.S. Before any rumors get started, let’s get something straight. I have been a part of Stompernet since November 2006, and I believe in the program.
However, it’s not for everyone, so I will continue to do the same stuff I’ve always done, which is write, teach, and try to help everyone I can. As always.
If you’re not interested in Stompernet at all, that’s fine - after this Thursday, you probably won’t hear much about it for quite a while.
I hope that you can understand why it’s important for me to communicate with those who do want to work with me more closely, and I don’t know when I’ll get another chance to invite them in.
